Moroccan rugs have been popular for some time now.  At first I thought it was a trend that was going to fade quickly but to my surprise they’ve had more staying power then I thought.  Their casual look works with lots of decor, especially if you are going for a global chic or bohemian vibe.  Their geometric pattern is more organic and feel good on bare feet.    So when my daughter and I updated her room, we decided a moroccan style rug would fit right in with the look we were going for.

I ordered my daughter’s moroccan style rug from Pink Rug Co on Etsy.  I’m always a bit nervous ordering items not seen in person, but the rug exceeded my expectations.  The colors are vibrant and fun and the rug’s texture adds a great element to the room.

The large mural on the wall from Pixersize is of a husky dog.  My daughter is an animal lover who loves how this particular image reminds her of an amazing family trip we took to Alaska.

One of the  most popular Moroccan type rugs, are Beni Ourain rugs.  Authentic versions are made by the Beni Ourain tribes who live in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains.  These rugs are 100% sheep wool and undyed.  Typically they have white or cream background with dark brown lines that create symbols, representing each weaver’s life.  They have a high pile and are soft and luxurious.
