Not only was her design skill very deep, she also knew the nuts and bolts of the trades and even made some architectural improvements to our plan! She was able to channel our taste and bring incredible resources to us, from fabrics to lighting, furniture and hardscape materials. She was easy to work with, and developed creative solutions when there were issues with some of the suppliers due to COVID and the supply chain crisis. Her wholistic approach went beyond the finishes to help us create the overall space and feel we had dreamed of. We would recommend her to anybody who wants to create a sophisticated, beautiful home.

After interviewing two other designers for my master bathroom renovation, I got in touch with Melissa McLay based on some photos of her work I'd seen on her blog. This was a total renovation, not just adding some decorative touches, so I needed someone who could do everything from design to helping with a contractor to choosing all of the materials and finishes. From the first sketches to domolition to finished product, she guided the process in a way that gave me total confidence. Her vendor relationships are excellent and she was able to give me a custom look while staying on schedule and within budget.

Melissa is an absolute delight! Her ability to listen to our concerns, wants/needs and focus on a finished product were outstanding. We really didn't have any deadlines, but everything has been completed in a timely manner. Melissa discussed charges/costs/budget right up front, so we've never been taken by surprise; she is completely honest and trustworthy. Melissa has extensive knowledge of color schemes, fabric selections and furniture design and structure. We absolutely love the beautiful transformation she has created in our home and we're very proud of it! Melissa redesigned our great room and entrance foyer. She was very easy to work with, listened to my ideas and incorporated them into the design concept. We love and are enjoying the finished product and have received many compliments.

Master bathroom was gutted and completely redone. Melissa drew up plans, oversaw the work, and researched all the elements and helped me decide on all aspects - floor tile, bathroom fixtures, paint color, light fittings, wall art etc. Melissa was extremely helpful and listened to our views and our tastes, and came up with a gorgeous bathroom for us. We love our new bathroom and have had many compliments on it. We would definitely like to use Melissa McLay Interiors again in the future.

When looking for a designer to help me customize my new home, I was fortunate to find Melissa McLay Interiors on Houzz.com. Melissa was excellent incorporating my existing furniture while choosing new fabrics for window treatments, suggesting paint colors/wallpaper and adding new light fixtures. She did a fabulous job designing a fireplace with bookcases for our new sports bar and guiding me with the purchase of new furniture for this area. During this entire process, I was living in another state. Melissa managed my entire project to perfection. Everything was finished on time and was a completely stress free experience.
